People forget...

I lost my hair after starting chemo about eight years ago and it never really grew back. At some point, I started wearing wigs, but I was not secretive about it. Still, even though I might think everyone is thinking about my hair loss, they are not! The other night, I was sitting with some girlfriends who were talking about coloring their hair and one of them asked how I got such good waves in mine and if I colored it. I wasn't sure if she meant the wig or actually just forgot it was a wig so I said, well, yes, I curl it myself but I didn't do the color since I bought the wig that way. Both friends were surprised and it was clear that if they knew about the hair loss, they had completely forgotten. And frankly, this is a win! Because if you are interacting with people constantly and they see nothing about your hair that looks unusual, that is a great wig! More importantly, just remember everyone has their own worries and irritations, aches and pains, trauma and guilt, fears, sorrow, insecurities...the list goes on and on. Life is so much bigger than how you look.
That said, this is an excellent wig. Thank you, Highline Wigs. This one is in Mousse, which is a great ashy brown that works well with my skin tone. I had it thinned a bit and added more layers around the face.
