Real Hair or Synthetic?

Synthetic or human hair?  For toppers and wigs, you choose!  The pros of synthetic wigs: the style is set and the price is significantly lower vs. real hair.  You do have to use special shampoo/conditioner for synthetic wigs, since these are made from manmade materials such as acrylic, nylon and polyester.  And because of these materials, you generally need to avoid heat styling, although some synthetic wigs are heat-safe, more or less.  (Sad/funny story - I wore a brand new synthetic wig to a very fancy party once, stood under a heat lamp and then realized when I went to the restroom later in the night that part of my wig had been fried by the heat!) The primary negative of synthetic wigs is the feel.  They do not feel the same as real hair and can be itchy on the head.  

Human hair is a lot more expensive than synthetic, but with proper care, it can last longer.  Human hair wigs do require actual styling and care similar to actual hair.  The major advantage is that real hair wigs can look and feel extremely natural. I highly recommend human hair for wigs if you can afford it. Another good idea is to get a synthetic wig for certain activities. No need to wear your beautiful, expensive wig to go camping, for example.
